Week 4: The ASSURE Model Lesson Plan

In this week I learned about the Assure Model  Lesson Plan which is a lesson plan constructed using the Letters  A. S. S. U. R. E to create steps that describe a set of tasks that should be considered when writing a lesson plan.

We were placed in groups of 2 in which each group had actors and guessers. The teacher gave the actors a blue strip of paper and told them not to open it or show anyone in the group. The actors would act out the word that is on the paper given to them without talking or writing. Each group had a chance to guess what the actors from each group was acting and the group that guess the correct answer get 10 points. It was fun and entertaining even though my group lost.

We then  watched different videos about lesson plans from different theorist. The first video we had to summarize the video. It was bit challenging cause the video had different sections but by the grace of god and a little help from my classmates i got it.

The second video we watched , we had to identify the six (6) Levels of cognitive domains for
Mr. Benjamin theory; differentiate between the old and new version of the taxonomy and discuss the importance of using the Bloom Taxonomy. It was not challenging  because it was clearly shown in the video and through discussion we had great ideas on the importance of the Bloom Taxonomy.

The next video watched shows us clearly on how to write objectives.

Each student was given the task of creating E.D.E.T notes without writing with a pen or pencil but using a technological device. I used a laptop to create my notes. It was easier than hand writing.

I was introduced to the A B C D component of an objective based on Mr. Mager learning objectives.
A- Audience
B- Behavior
C- Condition
D- Degree

I had to create an objective base on a topic of choice showing the A B C D components.

A next video was shown base on Bloomberg theory of learning objectives and i had write 3 objectives showing both Mager components and Bloomberg's objectives.

I intended to use the domains and components of learning in writing my lesson plan objectives in my classroom so i cater for all learning styles students may have.
